The Norwayne football team went to Dalton on Friday night to open up league play and handled the Bulldogs early and often with a convincing 47-13 victory. Quinn Hiles highlighted the evening with touchdown catches from 57 yards and 52 yards respectively. Hiles finished the night with 5 catches for 151 yards. Austin Kinder picked off a Dalton pass and returned it for a touchdown to go along with Hiles’ 2 scores to give the Cats an early 20-0 lead. Logan Moyer added a rushing touchdown from 28 yards and Coen Haven returned a Dalton punt 44 yards for a touchdown that gave the Cats a 34-0 lead at the half. Coen Haven added another 4th quarter touchdown along with Kaden Kidd to finish off the scoring for the night. Logan Moyer led all rushers with 10 carries for 90 yards and Kaden Kidd added 4 carries for 75 yards. Ameer Cunningham got into the action with 9 carries for 51 yards and Coen Haven had 7 yards on 3 carries. Joining Hiles in the receiving corps were Logan Moyer(4-30), Coen Haven(2-35), Bryce Hall(2-16), and Austin Kinder(1-13). Nate Bitskay was solid at quarterback again going 14-27 for 245 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Cats are now 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in the WCAL. They will host Smithville next Friday.
