The Norwayne girls track team went to Orrville on Saturday and brought home the 2018 Wayne County Athletic League Championship. Rachel Schmidt won MVP honors by winning the 100m and 300m hurdles. She was also the anchor leg of the winning 400m relay team and finished 2nd in the 200m dash. Picking up WCAL Championships were the 400m relay team(Rachel Schmidt, Grace Sullivan, Audrey Bishop, Allie Studer), 800m relay team(Allie Studer, Grace Sullivan, Kirsten Bache, Sarah Schmidt), 1600m relay team, Allie Studer(100m dash, pole vault), Kenzie Lendon(shot put), and Lynnsey Winchell(discus). The Cats led the field with 155.5 points, followed by Rittman with 139.5 points. Rounding out the league was Chippewa(101.5), Smithville(90), Waynedale(78), Dalton(43), Northwestern(39) and Hillsdale(13.5).
